BIRD PLATE XXXVIII - THE FINCHES
BIRD PLATE XXXVIII - THE FINCHES

I‘m always looking up to the sky when I’m out and about, and I started observing and realizing the sky is full of birds, and they have become my latest obsession.
Looking at them fly, perch on the trees and seeing them look for food in the ground makes me very happy and fills me with joy, and inspiration.
So, they are the subject of this new original art collection. I took my beloved wood blocks and painted my favorite bird heads on them using a variety of mixed media and techniques.
On top of everything, a rich layer of encaustic beeswax gives everything a warm, cozy finish that goes perfect with the aging patina that gives them a weathered, old look.
I’ve already seen some of them and I even managed to track some of the species. On this original plate you will find:
1. Passerina versicolor (Male)
2. Passerina versicolor (Female)
3. Cyanospiza amcena (Male)
4. Cyanospiza amcena (Female)
5. Passerina cyanea (Male)
6. Passerina cyanea (Male)
7. Phonipara zena (Male)
8. Phonipara zena (Female)
9. Sporophila morelleti (Male)
