CHRISTMAS SCENE

This piece feels like a tiny Christmas story brought to life in clay. I built the entire scene by hand: a tall, glowing tree topped with a star, a child holding their present with both hands, and bright gifts scattered across a festive red ground. Every part of it has a soft, nostalgic charm, the kind that comes from shaping and painting everything slowly, one small detail at a time.

The tree is full of color and light, dotted with warm reds, snowy whites, and soft greens, with a bright yellow star shining from the very top. The little child at the base is my favorite part. There’s something tender in the way they hold their gift, wrapped tightly in red and yellow, as if they’ve been waiting all season for this moment.

Each gift has its own personality too—painted with playful glazes that melt and swirl in their own way during firing, giving the whole piece a magical, handmade look you can’t reproduce.

The glossy glaze catches the light beautifully, especially on the raised decorations and the gift bows. The detail shots show the texture and depth that happen only with real ceramic work: soft transitions in the colors, and hand-carved shapes beneath the paint.

This sculpture makes a wonderful centerpiece for a holiday display or a heartfelt gift for someone who loves Christmas scenes, folk art, and one-of-a-kind handmade pieces.
