When I was making "Lady Of The Sunlit Meadow" in my studio, I wanted to capture the feeling of self-assurance and unapologetic poise. With her hands resting proudly on her hips, she stands tall and unwavering.
She is not asking for permission to be seen, nor is she waiting for someone else to validate her path. Crowned by a bright, open bloom reaching toward the light, she represents the beauty of blooming on your own terms with courage, dignity, and a clear sense of self.
This one-of-a-kind art vessel is completely hand-built and sculpted by me in rich clay, then fired in my old-school electric kiln. Her delicate porcelain-toned face carries soft rosy cheeks, a calm, knowing expression, and fine crazing details. Her sculptural arms curve into bold dual handles that frame her waist, while a vibrant marigold-yellow blossom crowns her head, opening into the hollow vessel itself.
Finished in a rich satin teal-green glaze over her sweeping dress, the color contrasts beautifully against the sunny yellow petals, giving her the timeless presence of a talisman honoring personal strength and joy.
