I made this painting on a whim, I just took my paintings, my watercolor brush and a vintage family photo from my collection.
I was thinking about my family. My mom and sisters when I made it. There is some of us in it. Not a lot but you can feel it.
I love the way each of the women in this painting has their own personality. I intentionally did not use a lot of detail on it, because it's from an image of a distant past. They are long gone since the original photo was taken, and I like to imagine what their lives were on a time so far now that it's not easy for us to grasp how things were back then.
