With all the uncertainty happening in the world today, I feel like I need to protect my family. My home is where my heart is, and my roots should not be on the ground, fixed, but with me so everywhere I go, home will be where I am at.
Watercolor is my latest obsession, and I have been playing around with my paint and brushes to create a series of lovely girls to experiment with colors, textures and different watercolour techniques. I love the freedom of painting just for painting and seeing the colors mix on the paper as I let my creativity guide me.
Each painting measures approx. 6x8 inches (15x20 cm) and is matted on an 8x10 inches (20x25 cm) with a 5x7 inch (12x17 cm) opening. You can frame it on a standard frame of your choice, our you could just prop the mat on a wall and they look great like that.
Just putting the paint on paper and watch it flow makes me very happy, I fell like a kid and you can feel that joy on the series with free flowing lines and a free and careless attitude towards color and composition.
But having fun and being playful about them did not stop me from giving them my signature expressive eyes and faces. Each of the girls has a very unique personality that makes each one of them stand out in their own personal way.
