This collection of handmade ceramic containers by Danita Art has a deep, very special meaning to me. My grandmother was a seamstress, she made custom made dresses and clothes for special events and made clothes for me to wear when I was very young. I can no longer wear these clothes, but like her, I can make them. So, I put my alchemy skills to a very special use and transformed a lump of clay into a homage to her memory.
Using hand pinching techniques to create one of a kind fire glazed ceramics, I sculpted vintage blouses like the ones I like to wear when I go to a fancy dinner or an elegant party, made them hollow so they can hold flowers, plants, brushes or anything you’d like to keep in them. They will make a beautiful accent in your main dinner table, your special showcase or anywhere you want something beautiful to remind you of family and love.

A FAIR WARNING ON THIS PIECE: The kiln gods demand sacrifice every time I fire a batch, and this time, some of the pieces of the collection had to be given as tribute. The gods can be kind and sometimes they return them to me with cracks or imperfections that can be salvaged and I repair them with lots of love and care. In my opinion, they are even more special. They stood their trial by fire, they survived and came back with more experience in their life, and they are not afraid to show it.
I offer them as SECONDS, not because they are of lower quality, but become I am giving them a second chance in life.
This piece has a crack in the bottom that WILL NOT ALLOW IT TO HOLD WATER, but can be used to store dried flowers, potpourri or any other dry goods you can think of. One of then is keeping brushes and pen at home :)
