Halloween is, without a doubt, the absolute best season of the year. There is nothing quite like the cozy excitement that fills the air when October arrives: glowing carved pumpkins sitting on doorsteps, the aroma of cinnamon and baked treats, and children dressed in whimsical costumes running through the neighborhood.
When I was making "THE SPOOKY FRIENDS CIRCLE" in my studio, I was thinking about the innocent charm of classic vintage Halloween. Carved into the surface is a sweet circle of friends holding hands around the entire cup: a cheerful little sheet ghost and two pumpkin-headed trick-or-treaters dressed in party hats, polka dots, and cozy autumn outfits. They dance together under a shower of falling orange leaves, celebrating friendship and Halloween joy.
This piece is 100% handmade and hand-sculpted by me, Idania Salcido, the artist behind Danita Art. I shaped the mug from rich, speckled stoneware clay, hand-carved every character in relief, and fired it in my old-school electric kiln.
Holding approximately 15 ounces, it is generously sized to cradle in your hands as you sip warm coffee, spiced cider, or hot chocolate on chilly autumn mornings. The inside glows with a vibrant, glossy pumpkin-orange glaze that melts over the rim in delicious honeyed drips, contrasting beautifully with the rustic, stone-textured handle.
